About the Role
NERA is seeking Ph.D. Summer Interns (2028 grads) for multiple offices to support Consultants and Partners. Interns will conduct research, perform analyses, and provide advice to clients, involving data collection, financial modeling, econometric analysis, and report drafting in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Collecting market, industry, company, and competitor information for casework.
- Building and using spreadsheet models.
- Applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data.
- Reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing industry trends.
- Creating trial exhibits.
- Drafting memos, expert reports, and presentation materials.
- Participating in client and team meetings and conference calls.
- Working independently within a team on client advisory projects and litigation casework.
- Performing quantitative financial and economic analysis across various industries and markets.
Requirements
- Ph.D. candidates in economics, statistics, finance, or a related field.
- Training in econometrics and quantitative methods.
- Exceptional analytic skills.
- Strong academic records.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to think analytically and critically.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Highly efficient using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Adept at online research.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- International candidates must be able to independently obtain work authorization (OPT/CPT).
- Commitment of 8-10 consecutive weeks between June and August.
