About the Role

The Commercial Development Program (CDP) is a structured, multi-year rotational program designed to develop Tricon’s next generation of commercial leaders. It provides immersive exposure to the physical commodities business across trading-adjacent functions, blending on-the-job learning with formal training and mentorship to prepare participants for long-term careers in Tricon’s commercial organization.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through core commercial areas, gaining hands-on experience in how physical trades are structured, executed, priced, and risk-managed.
  • Develop a commercial understanding of how disciplined, efficient operations enable profitable physical trading.
  • Gain exposure to end-to-end commodity operations across global trade flows.
  • Learn contract execution, logistics coordination, documentation, and settlement processes.
  • Interact with traders, counterparties, logistics providers, and internal teams.
  • Understand physical delivery, operational risks, and control frameworks.
  • Focus on the analytical and commercial foundations that support trading decisions.
  • Conduct market analysis, price monitoring, and benchmark tracking.
  • Analyze supply and demand fundamentals across regions and products.
  • Analyze industry trends, trade flows, and geopolitical developments.
  • Support commercial strategy development and trading ideas.
  • Build a solid understanding of how Tricon manages financial and non-financial risks throughout the trading lifecycle.
  • Monitor market risk, exposures, and position limits.
  • Prepare P&L, position, and risk reports.
  • Support risk governance, controls, and compliance processes.
  • Analyze risk drivers and potential impacts on trading performance.
  • Collaborate with traders and commercial teams to promote risk-aware decisions.

Requirements

  • Degree must be completed between December 2026 and August 2027.
  • Strong academic performance demonstrating analytical rigor and intellectual curiosity.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work with incomplete or ambiguous information.
  • Genuine interest in global trade and commodity markets.
  • Resilience in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under time pressure and take ownership of outcomes.
