About the Role
The successful candidate will lead the development of technical aspects and content of projects, coordinating work with all disciplines to ensure integrated deliverables and verifying compliance through team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, production, coordination, and architectural detailing as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Coordinate engineering systems with engineers and consultants.
- Partner with Design Leadership to carry through design intent.
- Coordinate with team members on project assignments and documents.
- Prepare design sketches of moderate to complex site plans.
- Communicate project status, design intent, construction updates, and other critical information to owners, consultants, and clients.
- Participate in Business Development activity and partner with Marketing and Office Leadership.
- Perform field site inspections, which frequently require a physical walk-through of the site.
- Facilitate integration of performance-based and sustainable design strategies into design solutions.
- Participate in project teams by implementing CannonDesign Method using process expectations, best practices, reference standards, tools, templates, and technology.
- Create a stimulating and rewarding environment that sets the tone for design and technical excellence.
- Provoke critical thinking and critique of work, and identify and share lessons learned with teams.
- Provide guidance to interns and mentor less experienced team members.
- Contribute to the technical quality of projects by enforcing QA/QC process standards and requirements.
- Ensure all statutory requirements for the project are achieved.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor degree in a relevant field required.
- Minimum 8+ years of related professional experience required.
- Current Architectural Registration in Canada required.
- Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
- Must possess business acumen.
- Must be a critical thinker.
- Must be highly analytical.
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical knowledge and coordination skills.
- Provide resume and portfolio when applying.
- Complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes.
- Adhere to internal policies and Code of Conduct.
