About the Role
Block by Block employs Ambassadors to make public spaces friendlier, safer, and cleaner. This role is ideal for outgoing individuals who enjoy working outdoors and interacting with people. It's also a great opportunity for retirees, veterans, and graduating high school seniors.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned zones on foot and/or bike to deter unwanted behavior and activity.
- Provide information, assistance, and directions to pedestrians and visitors with a positive, professional demeanor.
- Identify and report unwanted behaviors or criminal activity to local authorities, providing accurate descriptions.
- Politely request compliance from individuals violating minor offenses.
- Engage pedestrians with friendly greetings and provide city information.
- Visit zone businesses to share information and gather contact details.
- Complete basic daily reports of tasks, requiring proficiency in English.
- Work outdoors in all conditions.
- Be available Monday through Sunday with two days off.
- Work shifts from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
Requirements
- Valid TX Driver's License with a clean MVR required.
- Asset Protection/Security background required.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift, including breaks and lunch.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language.
