About the Role
NERA is seeking talented individuals to join its Energy and Natural Resources business over the Summer in London. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on real cases and projects, gaining invaluable experience in economic consulting by collaborating with internationally-recognized experts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature and data research
- Perform conceptual analysis applying theoretical literature to case facts
- Manage and clean data
- Analyze data and interpret results
- Participate in drafting reports, memoranda, presentations, and other work products
- Evaluate climate change and energy policies, including emissions, renewable energy, and energy efficiency policies
- Assess economic impacts, including costs, benefits, and social effects of government policies and regulations
- Engage in auction design and/or simulation, and competitor analysis
- Develop pricing systems for transport infrastructure
- Prepare expert reports on economic and finance issues in litigation and international arbitration proceedings
Requirements
- Must be studying Economics
- Currently in the final year of undergraduate studies, or a current Master's or PhD student in Economics, ideally in your penultimate year
- Enjoy microeconomics and quantitative research
- Comfortable working in Excel, Stata, R, Python, or other quantitative software platforms
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to think analytically and critically
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Ability to work effectively both individually and in teams
- Must have the right to work in the UK
