About the Role

RSM’s Financial Services practice serves clients in the asset management industry, focusing on private equity funds, hedge funds, and fund of funds. This team provides tax compliance and consulting for complex funds, utilizing advanced technology and national resources.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex client engagements, focusing on high-quality tax advice and expanding services to Asset Management clients.
  • Potentially hold people leadership responsibilities.
  • Manage multiple complex issues, translating technical information for clear client and team communication while mitigating risk.
  • Drive practice growth by generating new revenue from existing clients, cross-selling services, and identifying new clients.
  • Act as Tax client service coordinator, developing and executing the firm’s client service plan.
  • Advise clients on a comprehensive range of tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and M&A activities.
  • Review research findings to ensure consistency with firm policies and professional standards.
  • Build cross-functional relationships to ensure integrated and excellent client service.
  • Manage client needs in coordination with engagement teams across various tax specializations.
  • Stay current with tax practices and legislative changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited university.
  • 8+ years of experience in business taxation within a Big 4, large national, regional, or local accounting firm, or equivalent industry/law firm experience.
  • Possess an active CPA license (in state of residence or primary office), an active Enrolled Agent (EA) license, or an active Attorney license.
  • Extensive experience in tax compliance and consulting for Asset Management clients.
  • Strong understanding of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow a client portfolio.
  • Proven success in simultaneously managing multiple projects and client engagement teams from initiation to completion.
