About the Role
As a Sous Chef at the newly designed K&B restaurant within Courtyard by Marriott Berlin City Center, you will support the kitchen team in à la carte, banquet, and event operations, contributing to the further development of the culinary offerings alongside the Head Chef.
Responsibilities
- Act as deputy head of the kitchen in close collaboration with the Head Chef.
- Oversee smooth operations of individual kitchen stations and the stewarding department.
- Participate operationally in all shifts and at various stations.
- Contribute to the planning, preparation, and execution of events, buffets, and menus.
- Actively participate in menu and offer development for the restaurant and banquets.
- Lead, guide, and motivate the kitchen team.
- Organize and coordinate workflows in the kitchen and assist with duty and vacation planning.
- Control merchandise orders, usage, inventory, and stocktaking.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, quality, and safety standards.
Requirements
- Completed training as a cook.
- Several years of professional experience in upscale gastronomy or hotel industry, ideally in a leadership position (e.g., as Sous Chef or experienced Chef de Partie).
- Passion for modern, creative cuisine and a strong sense of quality.
- Leadership skills, organizational talent, and a sense of responsibility.
- Structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work.
- Flexibility regarding working hours (early and late shifts).
- Good German language skills, basic English skills; other languages are welcome.
