About the Role
Simply Wall St is evolving into a Portfolio Command Center, aiming to give stock investors ultimate control over their wealth. The Video team is building a YouTube presence to help everyday investors understand market movements. We are seeking a video presenter/host to be the face and voice of our YouTube content, delivering well-produced long-form videos weekly.
Responsibilities
- Deliver one long-form YouTube video per week, focusing on a stock, sector, or investing theme.
- Bring scripts to life with natural, conversational delivery, engaging viewers throughout the video.
- Build audience trust and viewership as the recognizable on-camera presence.
- Interpret scripts, focusing on pacing, emphasis, and delivery to make the content engaging.
- Sustain energy, clarity, and personality throughout longer video formats.
- Present dense material with credibility and warmth, creating a conversational tone.
- Film on a predictable weekly cadence to support a steady publishing schedule.
- Collaborate with editorial and video production teams, incorporating feedback promptly.
- Provide feedback on scripts, acting as the final check before filming.
- Contribute to building the channel's on-camera presence and brand.
- Be comfortable with an evolving format and provide input on what works.
Requirements
- Comfortable and credible discussing stocks, markets, and investing.
- Understanding of long-form YouTube conventions, including pacing, structure, and audience retention.
- Existing on-camera experience in finance, business news, or a comparable explainer/commentary format is a plus.
- Strong, natural on-camera delivery, making scripts sound like personal thoughts.
- Ability to sustain focus and energy throughout a full video take.
- Capacity to receive and implement feedback on tone, pacing, and framing.
- Possession of a reliable personal recording setup (camera, audio, lighting) for broadcast-quality output.
- Engaging presence that holds viewer attention for extended periods.
- Reliability and efficiency within a remote production pipeline.
- Ability to hit a weekly filming cadence and deliver clean footage.
- Proactive communication regarding any issues.
- Comfortable being the face of a developing channel.
- Genuine curiosity about markets and investing, or the ability to convincingly convey it.
