About the Role
The Marketing Manager (Business Development & Partnerships) drives tour flow through marketing channels in the Japan market by developing and implementing programs, building relationships with customers, vendors, and partners, and evaluating program performance. This role also involves communicating marketing strategies and monitoring vendor activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to increase tour flow through marketing channels.
- Manage and execute tour-generation initiatives with alliance partners.
- Collect and analyze competitive intelligence to support marketing strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with alliance partners for lead generation.
- Ensure pricing and communications for preview packages are consistent across all channels.
- Contribute to the development and review of marketing materials and event collateral.
- Monitor package sales production and activation performance weekly.
- Review channel performance reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and support business objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with alliance partners to ensure understanding of program guidelines.
- Communicate marketing strategies and program information to the sales organization.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with resort operations, hotel-linkage partners, OPC vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all Marriott Vacation Club product lines.
- Maintain current computer systems knowledge as used by the company.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in marketing, sales, business development, or partnerships within the hospitality, banking, or credit card industry.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proven verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate initiative.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Skills
- Partnership management experience is preferred.
- Native-level proficiency in spoken and written Japanese and English.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese is an advantage.
