About the Role
ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, is seeking a dedicated Supervisor – Civil to join our growing Energy Hubs and Substations team. This role is crucial for the design, build, finance, operation, and maintenance of the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network, a significant project aimed at transferring power from renewable sources to consumers and unlocking substantial network capacity.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all construction works meet specifications and relevant standards.
- Take responsibility for the quality of work under their supervision.
- Ensure all construction works undertaken and completed are in conformance with the specification and relevant standards and Code of Practice.
- Check to ensure whatever actions are required under Hold and Witness Points have been performed prior to commencing work.
- Ensure all workers have received a project specific induction that explains all hazards present on the project and the control measures to be followed before beginning working activities.
- Adopt a zero tolerance to work practices and equipment that may be unsafe or have serious adverse Safety or environmental impact.
- Ensure that project team completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority.
- Ensure non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions initiated.
- Provide positive leadership to subcontractors, monitor and control their performance and ensure the quality and standard of workmanship is performed.
- Drive commitment to quality both top down and bottom up.
- Ensure compliance with all ACEREZ D&C management system procedures including Plant Operator Assessments, verifies Daily Checklists, Weekly Checklists and works with Permits where required.
Requirements
- Preferable 5+ years' experience as a supervisor on civil scopes including foundations, piling, and bulk earthworks.
- Preferable experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.
- Presented problem solving / analytical skills.
- Understands specifications and drawings.
- Experience in managing subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and procedures.
- Demonstrated relevant leadership skills.
- Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied.
- Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
- Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same.
- Self-confident and able to persuade, convince or impress others to gain their commitment and co-operation to a course of action.
- Good at multi-tasking and demonstrates sound judgments, including balancing competing issues.
- Must be able to issue clear directions to construction workers.
