About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the accounting and financial foundation of our rapidly expanding company. You will lead core finance functions including monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, consolidated accounting, management accounting, internal controls, and external audit coordination. This position offers the opportunity to significantly contribute to building and improving financial systems, accelerating closing processes, standardizing accounting procedures, and advancing management accounting to support business growth. You will collaborate with international teams and stakeholders, providing crucial financial insights to support management decision-making in a global environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and build the consolidated closing process and framework.
- Manage and improve the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Prepare and document internal controls (J-SOX) for IPO readiness.
- Handle communications with the audit firm and prepare disclosure documents.
- Drive management accounting tasks, including P/L analysis and budget vs. actual management.
- Engage in accounting audits for overseas locations in the US and India.
- Review and accelerate monthly closing processes.
- Support tax filing with external tax advisors.
- Build and document internal controls.
- Support the creation of business plans.
- Manage budget vs. actuals for monthly and quarterly periods.
- Provide P/L analysis and reporting to management and business units.
- Confirm and reconcile figures with product teams.
- Develop and improve management accounting systems to support business growth.
- Improve and accelerate monthly closing processes.
- Standardize and improve the efficiency of accounting operations.
- Review and support the implementation of workflows and various tools.
- Create systems to improve the accuracy of accounting and management accounting data.
Requirements
- Bookkeeping proficiency equivalent to Level 2 (Nissho Boki 2-kyu) or higher.
- Over 5 years of practical accounting experience in a corporate setting.
- Practical experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- High adaptability to new environments and rapidly changing organizations.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate smoothly with internal and external stakeholders.
- Basic English communication skills.
