About the Role
As a member of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Team, the H&S Specialist (w/m/d) is responsible for health protection and occupational safety issues, reporting to the Country QHSE Manager.
Responsibilities
- Co-supervision and co-development of the occupational safety handbook in accordance with internal standards and legal requirements.
- Participation in or execution of risk assessments and safety-related inspections.
- Support in and independent planning and execution of projects in the H&S area.
- Support in incident investigation for root cause analysis and in the implementation of necessary measures for accident prevention.
- Preparation and execution of internal H&S-related training and briefings.
- Participation in internal and external audits, including their organization, execution, and documentation.
- Active support in building a proactive H&S culture by promoting safety-conscious behavior among all employees.
Requirements
- Completed degree in natural sciences, engineering, or technology.
- Ideally, already completed additional qualification as an occupational safety specialist.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legal regulations and guidelines.
- Initial professional experience in occupational safety management (according to ISO 45001 or similar) and willingness to further develop expertise in the subject.
- High service orientation and social competence, as well as strong communication skills and assertiveness.
- Independent and structured way of working with a high degree of solution orientation, as well as hands-on mentality and teamwork.
- Good presentation skills, passion for H&S topics, and a deep understanding of the importance of H&S for Arcadis.
- Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
