About the Role

This role is unique in that you will build the factory that builds the product, not the product itself. This position offers significant leverage and is central to how the company runs reliability.

  • Extend the agentic AI platform, including locally self-hosted models, for observability and automated issue detection.
  • Architect 24/7, cross-region-resilient, business-critical tooling used across the company.
  • Partner with other principal engineers, support, security, and platform teams to map system integrations and design for real-world environments.
  • Re-architect legacy applications and processes into secure, controlled, self-service tooling.
  • Own the end-to-end development lifecycle, including light, event-driven on-call.
  • Architect and implement enterprise-level observability automation solutions.
  • Lead design and integration of cross-environment telemetry data.
  • Develop resilient data collection and analytics pipelines.
  • Build self-service monitoring frameworks for internal teams.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipeline integration for observability tooling.
  • Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and development teams to drive performance visibility.
  • Lead performance tuning and incident resolution related to observability systems.
  • Contribute to security and compliance practices across observability tools.
  • Support, maintain, and resolve problems for custom features in live production systems, with occasional on-call availability.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
  • Expertise in software development and system integration for observability platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency with monitoring frameworks and analytics tools.
  • Able to consume and develop RESTful API web services.
  • Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps toolchains.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure as code and event-driven automation.
  • Proven track record designing observability systems in high-growth environments.
  • Ability to lead complex cross-team initiatives and deliver scalable results.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows scripting, including Bash/Perl/Python and PowerShell.
