About the Role
FOX 7 Austin is seeking an energetic and relentless storyteller to anchor premier evening newscasts and drive its 24/7 streaming presence. This role requires a newsroom leader who can command the anchor desk and dominate the digital landscape, breaking news on TV, engaging thousands on social media, and building a trusted brand.
Responsibilities
- Anchor live daily newscasts and high-stakes breaking coverage with credibility, warmth, and high energy.
- Anchor live digital newscasts using strong news judgment and a conversational, confident delivery.
- Create engaging video-first content for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts.
- Push urgent updates to FOX7Austin.com, our app, and OTT streaming channels.
- Host live digital Q&As and interact directly with viewers online.
- Represent the station at major Central Texas events.
- Pitch enterprise leads and champion bold investigative angles.
- Mentor reporters.
Requirements
- 3+ years of primary anchoring experience in a fast-paced market.
- Proven digital skills with a track record of growing an engaged online audience.
- Strong unscripted anchoring ability and editorial judgment for live and breaking-news coverage.
- Mastery of video editing, CMS platforms, and live breaking-news execution.
- A standout reel showing best studio work and engaging social and digital content.
