About the Role
We are seeking an experienced full stack engineer to help build and shape the user-facing experiences for our co-branded credit card platform, which serves hundreds of thousands of cardholders daily. This role is central to our user-facing initiatives, encompassing the design system, the consumer app for account management, and internal tools for operations and risk teams. You will not only maintain these experiences but also establish architectural patterns for scalability and quality, while actively developing new features.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve our component library and design system, building scalable, reusable components and establishing patterns for consistency and quality across consumer, partner-facing, and internal applications.
- Build and ship features in our consumer app, covering the full user journey from onboarding to account management and rewards.
- Design and build internal tools to provide operations and risk teams with necessary workflows and visibility.
- Manage projects from concept through production, including requirements gathering, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, backend engineering, partners, risk, and compliance teams to ensure timely and reliable delivery.
- Drive improvements in performance, accessibility, observability, and developer experience across the technology stack.
- Contribute to architectural decisions that guide the future development of our frontend platform.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering peers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of frontend engineering experience building production systems at scale.
- 3+ years of experience with React, applied to both consumer products and data-intensive internal tools.
- Strong understanding of state management, component architecture, accessibility, testing, and UI quality.
- Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems utilized across multiple products, with a focus on usability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Ability to work effectively across consumer, partner, and internal application surfaces without compromising quality or user experience.
- Proven ability to deliver complex projects end-to-end within cross-functional teams.
- Clear communication skills, with a capacity for rapid learning and knowledge sharing.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Familiarity with experimentation and personalization systems is a plus.
- Experience in fintech, payments, fraud, or financial services is a bonus.
- Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures or component library development is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Next.js, TailwindCSS, React Native, Yarn monorepos is a bonus.
- Working knowledge of API design and backend integration patterns (REST/GraphQL) for effective collaboration with backend teams is a bonus.
