About the Role

The Residential Aide coordinates and ensures the overall safety and security of the facility. This role involves monitoring client conduct, verifying movement, and providing limited crisis intervention until professional staff can intervene.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safety and security of all clients, visitors, staff, and property.
  • Maintains visibility to residents and inspects the site through regular tours.
  • Screens all clients and visitors to the facility.
  • Enforces and educates clients on CHI, site, and DSS policies, regulations, and rules.
  • Reviews video cameras and monitors the area consistently.
  • Provides limited crisis intervention and de-escalation to residents.
  • Contacts supervisor and/or the proper authorities as needed.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation accurately throughout the shift.
  • Conducts inspections in accordance with OTDA/DSS standards by physically entering each unit.
  • Accepts resident referrals and reviews rules and regulations with new arrivals.
  • Submits all internal and external reports in a timely and correct manner.
  • Maintains logs, office, and site in an orderly fashion.
  • Informs the Building Superintendent of the work site’s physical condition.
  • Preps vacant units for new placements.
  • Maintains proper usage of cleaning supplies and inventory.
  • Facilitates and documents evacuation procedures.
  • Performs administrative and reception duties at the front desk when needed.
  • Acts as a liaison between the agency and the community at large.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, nights and/or weekends and overtime if necessary.
  • Must obtain First Aid/CPR Certification, Food Handler’s Certification, and F-02 certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions and judgment calls, and perform proper notifications.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), tour property, walk distances, and climb stairs (up to 3-4 flights).

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English required.
  • Multi-lingual and Spanish proficiency prioritized.
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation.

Experience Level

  • 1-2 years of experience working in related field preferred.

Salary/Compensations

  • $21.64 - $45,000.00 Hourly
