About the Role
The Delivery Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities related to the general delivery of company products, overseeing the delivery team and ensuring adherence to company standards and legal requirements.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day activities of the delivery team, including interviewing, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure stakeholder activities align with company mission, vision, values, safety standards, SOPs, and all applicable laws.
- Assist Safety Director with accident/incident reduction and lead the team in training drivers on safe workplace practices.
- Perform administrative activities and data tracking for the delivery department.
- Coordinate with management to ensure delivery equipment maintenance meets DOT laws and requirements.
- Act in accordance with the Company’s mission, vision, and values, and execute management directives.
- Represent the Company in a manner consistent with all Company policies.
- Meet or exceed performance goals in accident/injury/incident prevention, stakeholder development, customer satisfaction, inventory control, supplier compliance, facility and vehicle maintenance, and delivery driver productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least five (5) years of related experience and/or training in delivery or management work.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
- Ability to learn and use internal company software, database software, internet software, order processing systems, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
- Must be able to communicate effectively to set direction and hold stakeholders accountable.
- Understanding of product code dating system.
- Valid driver’s license where applicable (i.e., CDL-A License or required to obtain CDL-A license).
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and use hands and reach with arms.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 165 lbs.
