About the Role
Strategic Mission Critical (SMC) is seeking an Entry-Level Fire Protection Engineer to execute fire suppression and alarm designs for mission-critical projects, including data centers and colocation facilities. This role involves contributing to design plans, specifications, and coordinating with various engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Execute fire protection design for various project types.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients and design leads from all disciplines.
- Meet project deadlines, including working necessary hours to complete major deliverables.
- Utilize Autodesk Revit to produce detailed design documents from schematic design to construction.
- Implement redlines and markups into model and drawing sheets.
- Communicate clearly with others in both written and spoken forms.
- Coordinate pipe routing and equipment placement with architects and civil/MEP engineers.
- Collaborate with departmental staff on various tasks.
- Maintain excellent organizational skills and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Follow established QA/QC procedures to meet internal and external requirements.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in Autodesk Revit for drawing development.
- Experience in fire protection design for larger commercial buildings is preferred.
- Experience in mission critical design is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
