About the Role
Bentley is seeking an Application Engineer to support key Bentley accounts. This role involves showcasing Bentley solutions to major global organizations by preparing content, delivering presentations, understanding account requirements, and communicating this knowledge internally. The position bridges Bentley products with user needs to support account, user, and product advancement, ultimately driving ARR growth and product usage.
Responsibilities
- Promote Bentley solutions to infrastructure audiences.
- Create presentations and demos showcasing Bentley applications.
- Prepare datasets for user presentations and demos.
- Conduct and/or support Discovery sessions, as required, to define solution requirements.
- Support sales and marketing events.
- Contribute to proposal development and submission.
- Provide feedback to Product Teams to improve products and collaborate on updates.
- Research industry standards and recommend product configurations.
- Stay informed about industry trends and competitors.
- Demonstrate the value of technical solutions to designers, engineers, architects, contractors, and owners.
- Connect with relevant stakeholders and users to gather account-specific intelligence and feedback.
- Communicate clearly and timely with account stakeholders and internal colleagues.
- Attend and contribute to account team meetings.
- Support sales opportunities and account planning, execute the Bentley Sales Process, and use Salesforce to document activities.
- Ensure a smooth transition to Services engagements through knowledge sharing.
- Support in the delivery of training, as required.
- Foster a culture of “One Bentley” and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
- Travel to user sites and software user conferences up to 50% of the time.
- Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer and communication with managers, peers and other colleagues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field; preferably an infrastructure-related background.
- 2+ years' experience in Construction Management, Virtual Design and Construction, or Project planning is preferred.
- Technical sales experience in the infrastructure or related industry preferred.
- Strong speaking, presentation, and demonstration skills.
- Ability to explain complex topics to audiences of all levels of knowledge and seniority.
- Independent judgment, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills using data to drive decisions.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new complex products.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effectively collaborate with teams leveraging communication and project management methods.
- Knowledge of Bentley Systems solutions preferred.
- JPN language proficiency (native or business level with credentials).
- Ability to work in Japan (VISA, PR, or equivalent).
- English (business level or higher).
- Experience in either a support, or business engineering (inside sales) role.
- Software and or engineering (coding) or similar technical experience.
- Engineering ability (coding in JS, C++, React, C#, Python).
- Familiarity with GitHub.
- Familiarity with cloud application systems and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with or experience in Construction, Infrastructure, and or asset lifecycle management.
