About the Role
Join the innovative and passionate hotel team at Fairmont Austin, a luxury property offering 1,048 guestrooms and suites and over 140,000 square feet of meeting and event space. This role is an opportunity to contribute to a leading hospitality brand.
Responsibilities
- Consistently offer professional, engaging, and friendly service.
- Maintain a professional presentation at all times.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by adhering to service standards for In Room Dining.
- Assist colleagues as needed to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Ensure all special events and amenities are presented according to guest and hotel specifications.
- Maintain established controls for stock, including pars and orders.
- Enforce security controls, including beverage stock management.
- Assign side work and record attendance.
- Inspect staff for uniforms, cleanliness, and identification.
- Ensure a safe working environment for employees.
- Supervise all In Room Dining colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Room Service.
- Knowledge and understanding of Food & Beverage, including Wines and Liquors.
- Strong PC skills for administrative requirements.
- Previous point of sale system experience required; Micros is an asset.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly responsible and reliable.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
- Constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
