About the Role

Element has an immediate opening for a Polymer Scientist/Engineer with experience in material characterization and Failure Analysis. This position is for Element’s New Berlin location to continue our growth and deliver unparalleled polymer engineering services to our clients, from standard materials testing to complex materials analysis and failure investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute projects to assist client companies in all facets of polymer and rubber materials usage across all fields of application.
  • Direct and/or perform testing as required to support the investigation of polymer-related projects.
  • Assist in client support, business development, and marketing activities.
  • Serve as an expert witness in projects related to the insurance industry and/or litigation matters.

Requirements

  • Experience in polymeric materials analysis is required.
  • Failure analysis experience is preferred.
  • Working understanding of analytical tests such as FTIR, DSC, TGA, GC/MS, TMA, DMA, etc.
  • Ability to operate and function within a team, drawing on other expertise where required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to different workloads and roles within the company.
