About the Role
Enable Dental delivers mobile and portable dentistry to various healthcare settings. The West Coast Clinical Director serves as the senior clinical leader for the region, responsible for provider oversight, partner relationships, and ensuring the quality and integrity of care delivered.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision for dentists and hygienists in the region.
- Serve as the primary clinical relationship owner for West Coast PACE and payer programs.
- Partner with other Clinical Directors, Compliance, and the Clinical Excellence team to maintain consistent standards.
- Lead provider development through onboarding, coaching, and performance management.
- Conduct routine chart auditing and treatment plan reviews.
- Investigate clinical grievances and ensure timely resolution.
- Manage provider scorecards for documentation quality and adherence to standards.
- Review specialist referrals for clinical appropriateness.
- Upskill regional dentists on specific procedures and design clinical models for specialized care.
- Adjudicate contract terms for services, including frequency limitations and authorizations.
- Secure authorization for out-of-benefit cases prior to treatment.
- Identify and sequence program-paid cases for internal delivery.
- Provide clinical input on contract renewals and benefit language.
- Represent Enable Dental clinically at program operating committees.
- Deliver quarterly clinical summaries and reconciliations.
- Provide clinical input for business development on new programs and market launches.
- Collaborate with Compliance on licensure, credentialing, and regulatory matters.
- Contribute to the Clinical Policy Manual and regional standard operating procedures.
- Treat patients one day per week to maintain licensure, credibility, and direct knowledge of care delivery.
Requirements
- DDS or DMD from an accredited program.
- Active, unrestricted California dental license in good standing at hire.
- Willingness to obtain licensure in additional states within the region.
- Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience, including general dentistry with prosthetics, extractions, and treatment planning for medically complex adults.
- Direct supervisory experience with dentists and hygienists.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and data-driven decision-making.
- Willingness to travel regionally on a regular basis.
