About the Role
We are seeking an experienced flat-rate technician with strong diagnostic fundamentals, ideally from a Japanese import platform, to bring their expertise to a high-volume, award-winning Land Rover dealership. This role offers a technically challenging environment where you will receive Land Rover certification support from day one, working with a prestigious brand in downtown San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and efficient diagnosis on Land Rover vehicles across all systems using JLR diagnostic platforms and OEM tools.
- Execute line repairs to manufacturer specifications, from routine maintenance to complex multi-system repairs.
- Document findings, repair procedures, and parts used on every repair order with precision and clarity.
- Communicate technical findings to service advisors to support accurate guest communication and repair authorization.
- Collaborate with senior technicians on complex diagnostic cases.
- Stay current on Land Rover technical service bulletins, software updates, and evolving repair procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
- Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality.
Requirements
- 3+ years of technician experience in a franchised dealership or European aftermarket shop.
- Strong diagnostic background is required.
- Land Rover, Jaguar, or European brand experience strongly preferred.
- Solid command of European vehicle systems, including advanced electrical, CAN bus, air suspension, terrain response, and ADAS.
- Low comeback rate and a personal standard for quality.
- Clear communicator who works effectively with advisors, the shop foreman, and fellow technicians.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
