About the Role
BeneLynk is seeking a UI/UX Product Designer to serve as the connective tissue between users and engineers for their Veteran Directed Care (VDC) technology platform. This role involves translating user needs and expert input into intuitive wireframes and prototypes, addressing usability issues, and driving an intuitive user experience within an Agile development process. The designer will create distinct, simple experiences for various user groups, including veterans, caregivers, and internal staff, within a single connected system.
Responsibilities
- Represent BeneLynk’s Customers
- Oversee Product Development
- Set Product Strategy
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the Product Owner and heads of relevant departments
- Challenge management team members and ask difficult questions
- Anticipate Opportunities
- Partner with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to translate complex program rules into simple, error-resistant workflows
- Produce user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes using standard and AI-assisted tools
- Facilitate design-alignment workshops and structured reviews
- Translate approved designs into detailed, developer-ready specifications
- Design and maintain a consistent design system and component library
- Plan and conduct user research (interviews, contextual inquiry, usability testing)
- Design for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA or higher)
- Run usability testing on new and existing flows, and iterate designs based on feedback
- Maintain clear documentation of design decisions and rationale
- Stay embedded with engineering through implementation, reviewing built screens against design intent
Requirements
- Bachelors/Associates degree and 2 - 5+ years in healthcare with 5+ years in UI/UX Product Design
- Experience in Agile business/software development lifecycle process and methodologies
- Excellence in the integration of expertise and experience with the use current tools (e.g., AI, Claude, Figma) to rapidly build wireframes and prototypes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- End user workflow experience
- Excellent Interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability, communication, empathy, problem-solving and teamwork
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, developers, designers, and end users
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
- Must have a stable internet connection
