About the Role
Groth Pain and Spine is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join their healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a clinical and non-clinical setting. This position requires proficiency in various medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Certified Medical Assistant will assist healthcare professionals in delivering comprehensive care to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their visit.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake, including taking medical histories and recording vital signs.
- Answer phones and schedule patients
- Perform basic life support and emergency procedures when necessary.
- Conduct X-Ray procedures and ensure proper handling of imaging equipment.
- Assist with patient consents and paperwork
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including coding for insurance purposes.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies are available for procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Proficiency in medication administration and basic life support certification.
- Experience in emergency medicine or inpatient settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to patient care.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy clinical environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.
- Must be able to lift 150 lbs.
