About the Role

Penske Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to join their team in Austin, Texas, to help deliver extraordinary customer experiences. The role involves obtaining, entering, and maintaining financial data and accounting records in accordance with company policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain, enter, and maintain financial data and accounting records.
  • Compile and sort documents substantiating business transactions.
  • Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records quickly and accurately.
  • Understand and comply with all regulations that affect the accounting department.
  • Perform tasks accurately, fairly, and in accordance with local, state, and federal statutes, as well as company policies.

Requirements

  • At least one year of recent applicable experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to meet the company's production and quality standards.
  • Lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Requires a good deal of sitting with some occasional walking or standing.
  • Ability to push, pull, stoop, kneel, reach, and grasp.
  • Involves repetitive motion.
  • Ability to talk and hear.
  • Some positions may require applicants to possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
