About the Role
The Educational & Employment Specialist helps program participants connect with employment opportunities, job readiness training, and continuing education. The role develops contacts and networks within the public and private sectors to support employment-related services and economic stability for individuals and families in need.
Responsibilities
- Assist participants with job search, placement, and retention aligned with their career goals.
- Build relationships with employers and develop job opportunities in the community.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate participants’ skills, interests, and employment needs.
- Provide job readiness support, including resume assistance and interview preparation.
- Support program initiatives, including youth employment and anti-violence programs.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and participant documentation.
- Provide referrals and support for social services, education, and career pathways.
- Assist with outreach efforts, social media, and development of program materials.
Requirements
- 1 year of proven experience in training development, mentoring, recruiting, or interviewing.
- Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals and community partners.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and social media platforms.
