About the Role
As a Junior Risk Assessor, you will support environmental risk assessment projects by analyzing site data, preparing technical reports, coordinating project activities, and assisting with regulatory compliance initiatives. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to environmental due diligence, provide risk management recommendations, and help deliver high-quality solutions for clients while continuing to develop your technical and project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare risk assessment reports and provide recommendations, including data tabulation, review, exposure modeling, reporting, intermediate quality reviews, and editing.
- Manage risk assessment and/or soil vapour intrusion assessment projects, providing technical expertise on human health and ecological risk management.
- Act as an inter-office liaison for Pinchin’s ERA Practice by conducting risk assessment feasibilities and assisting in data gap analyses based on Phase II/Two site investigations.
- Take financial responsibility for projects, including proposal preparation, report writing, and invoicing.
- Participate in business development efforts with new and existing clients.
- Maintain and enhance quality control within the group.
- Assist in mentoring and training junior professional staff.
- Submit all work for quality review prior to client submission.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in biological sciences, toxicology, or environmental studies is preferred.
- Experience in environmental consulting, including conducting site assessments, is an asset.
- Experience conducting and coordinating soil vapour intrusion assessments is an asset.
- Familiarity with O. Reg. 153/04 is required; understanding of other applicable Provincial or Federal environmental regulations is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Power Point, Outlook).
- Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in groups.
- Valid driver's license.
- Availability to travel within other areas of Ontario for team and client meetings as needed.
- Ability to qualify for Government security clearances may be preferred.
- Verification of background information over the previous five years, including Canadian residency, may be required.
