About the Role
Pluralis Research is developing Protocol Learning, a method for training and serving large models in a decentralized manner on consumer-grade devices. The role focuses on creating efficient algorithms and systems to verify the integrity of this decentralized network, ensuring the accuracy of model outputs and training contributions.
Responsibilities
- Own the threat model, enumerating potential malicious or careless actions by workers across pre-training, post-training, and inference.
- Design and calibrate statistical verification methods with stated error rates, controlling false positives and negatives across heterogeneous hardware.
- Build and operate the verification service within the inference path.
Requirements
- Experience building and operating calibrated statistical decision systems with stated error rates.
- Deep expertise in statistics and probability, including experimental design and threshold calibration.
- Knowledge of the solution space for verifying untrusted compute, including statistical testing, re-execution, cryptographic proofs, and trusted hardware.
- Belief in Protocol Learning as a viable path for collective, trustless, and sovereign AI.
- Professional-level English proficiency (written and spoken).
