About the Role
Pluralis Research is developing Protocol Learning, a method for training and serving large models in a decentralized manner on consumer-grade devices. This role focuses on building and optimizing the inference pipeline that supports reinforcement learning training and model serving in a permissionless, trustless environment with unpredictable hardware and network conditions.
Responsibilities
- Own the inference stack end-to-end, including pipeline-parallel execution, placement and routing, transport, serving engine, and failure handling.
- Invent and implement novel algorithms to achieve fast inference on consumer hardware over the public internet.
- Ensure the rollout pipeline is fast and reliable for RL training and transition it to a model serving layer.
Requirements
- Shipped serving systems or built large-scale inference systems hands-on.
- Demonstrated research ability, evidenced by publications or detailed walkthroughs of unpublished work in distributed inference, LLM serving, pipeline parallelism, or decentralized training.
- Experience with systems operating in low-bandwidth, high-latency environments like the public internet.
- Belief in Protocol Learning as a viable path for collective, trustless, and sovereign AI.
