About the Role
Ellipsis Health is developing AI/ML products to address healthcare staffing and administrative challenges using conversational AI and voice biomarker technology. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy, fairness, and robustness of our AI models, directly impacting customer onboarding and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Own data science and AI evaluation projects end-to-end, from problem definition to implementation.
- Build data and evaluation infrastructure for a closed-loop AI quality system, including datasets, benchmarks, and error analysis.
- Continuously identify failure modes and drive improvements in datasets, evaluation methodologies, and AI products.
- Design and implement robust evaluation frameworks, methodologies, and metrics for LLM- and speech-based AI systems.
- Develop scalable approaches to measure quality and accelerate customer onboarding.
- Design, curate, and maintain high-quality datasets for conversational AI systems.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and dashboards for AI quality monitoring and data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with AI/ML Engineers and Product Managers to integrate findings into product enhancements.
- Stay current with advancements in AI evaluation, LLMs, and speech systems.
- Mentor junior data scientists, establish best practices, and raise the technical bar.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience in data science, machine learning, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong proficiency in Python with libraries like Pydantic, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn.
- Strong foundation in statistical analysis, experimental design, hypothesis testing, and A/B testing.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets, data pipelines, and analytical tools.
- Familiarity with evaluation metrics (precision, recall, agreement metrics like Cohen's Kappa).
- Demonstrated ability to independently own and drive projects from problem definition through execution and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
