About the Role
We are seeking a qualified machine operator for the Afternoon shift at our North York location. This role involves setting up and operating machinery, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up machine control panel at the beginning of the shift.
- Check parts to tolerances using a caliper on a constant basis.
- Record tolerances every two hours on the Quality Assurance Report.
- Stop machine and adjust accordingly if tolerances are out (changing tools or moving units).
- Lift material onto the machine, one bar at a time when required (bar length 12' to 16').
- Empty chip bin when full.
- Move drum of parts to the shipping area using a drum dolly when full or job is complete.
- Write up shipping labels with Catalog #, Part #, Shop Order #, Revision # from the print and place inside the drum before moving.
- Move material on a buggy from shipping to the machine.
- Clean chips in the machine compartment.
- Keep the area around the machine clean.
- Adjust machine accordingly during the production process.
- Check parts with a caliper.
- Lift material waist to shoulder continuously.
- Lift material above shoulder/overhead reaching every 5 minutes (2 to 3 bars).
Requirements
- Minimum high school education.
- Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written).
- Must comply with all safety protocols.
