About the Role

The Procedural Specialist promotes BDI Surgery Advanced Reconstruction & Repair (AR&R) products to customers and potential customers through clinical support and education within a defined geographic area.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel and staff on technical matters relating to AR&R products through case support and in-servicing.
  • Coordinate field sales, logistics, timing, and execution of customer training and technical support for clinical cases.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers, hospitals, and physicians to obtain new users and applications for company products.
  • Observe and report market trends affecting AR&R sales, service, and product development.
  • Maintain relationships with the Region Manager, Territory Managers, ATMs, and customers.
  • Represent BD in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Process customer complaints and returns according to established procedures.
  • Maintain company automobile and property.
  • Complete and process BDI reports including procedural specialist reports, expense reports, monthly product tracking reports, and complaint reports.
  • Fulfill the duties of a Territory Manager in vacant territories and support AR&R procedures as directed by the Regional Manager.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelors degree highly preferred, or minimum of 6 years equivalent relevant work experience with High School diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in the Operating Room or procedural areas (e.g., ICU or PACU experience).
  • Surgical and procedure knowledge adequate to support clinical cases.
  • Medical and surgical terminology; basic anatomy knowledge.
  • Current credentialing and/or certification in respective clinical discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of surgery, and experience with general or plastic surgeons preferred.
  • Experience in the hernia space.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to maintain numerous priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, takes on additional responsibilities, and manages priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote), PowerBi, Salesforce (SFDC), and Showpad.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts through clear writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to travel 60-80%, including multiple overnights.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company.
  • Must possess and maintain a criminal background satisfactory to BD.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain customer/medical facility access requirements, including regular or periodic drug screenings.
  • Maintain vendor credentialing.
  • Considerable time spent daily standing and walking in hospital environments (standing 6+ hours a day).
  • Position may involve pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, and lifting.
  • Must live near a major US airport that serves as a hub to limit connections.

Salary/Compensations

  • $104,700 - $167,500 Base + incentive
