About the Role
Our practice specializes in sedation dentistry and caring for patients with dental anxiety and fear. We’re looking for an experienced, patient-focused hygienist to join our team on Fridays. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference for patients who are fearful or anxious about dentistry.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive preventive dental hygiene care
- Perform oral cancer screenings, X-rays, periodontal charting, scaling/root planing, and fluoride treatments
- Educate patients on oral and periodontal health
- Build trust and create a calm, comfortable experience for anxious patients
- Maintain accurate clinical records and follow infection-control protocols
- Collaborate with the dentist and dental team
Requirements
- Current NYS Registered Dental Hygienist License
- Strong clinical hygiene skills
- Excellent communication and patient education skills
- Gentle, compassionate chairside manner
- Ability to connect with and reassure anxious patients
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
