About the Role
Ajaia is hiring a Product Manager to own products in Ajaia's product suite end to end. You will talk to users and customers weekly, decide what gets built next and why, and clearly state what will not be built. This is a builder's role where you will contribute to code and design yourself.
Responsibilities
- Talk to users and customers weekly through real conversations and usage analysis.
- Translate user feedback, data, and requests into prioritized product decisions.
- Clearly communicate what will not be built, even for high-priority requests, if evidence does not support it.
- Write detailed specifications for engineers, including scope, human-in-the-loop requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Prototype core product flows, including wireframes, clickable mockups, or working demos.
- Contribute directly to code and design, shipping features and fixes with AI tools.
- Collaborate with the design team on user-centric solutions.
- Partner with engineering and delivery teams on build execution and timelines.
- Present roadmaps and trade-offs to stakeholders, managing expectations and pushback.
- Make and defend priority decisions, or change them with clear reasoning.
- Monitor post-launch metrics and act on data-driven insights.
- Manage multiple priorities and open questions simultaneously.
- Demonstrate sharp judgment in prioritizing and de-prioritizing features.
- Communicate decisions and specifications clearly for actionable understanding.
- Utilize AI daily for data analysis, spec drafting, and prototyping.
- Adapt to rapidly changing AI tools and identify valuable applications.
- Comfortably contribute to code and design using AI tools.
- Confidently hold or adjust priority calls with clear justification.
- Manage product development from conception through post-launch analysis.
Requirements
- 1 or more years in product management or equivalent experience.
- Highly organized across multiple priorities and open questions.
- Sharp judgment on what to build next, and clear about what not to build.
- Strong plain writing skills for creating actionable specifications and decisions.
- AI fluent: use AI daily for signal sorting, spec drafting, and prototyping; discern quality output.
- Comfortable contributing to code and design directly, enhanced by AI tools.
- Comfortable holding a priority call under pushback, or changing it for stated reasons.
- Experience with a B2B product used by an operational or compliance function (Nice to have).
- Comfort reading usage data or a support queue yourself (Nice to have).
- Exposure to a regulated industry such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, or legal (Nice to have).
- Prior experience in a 0-to-1 or early-stage product role (Nice to have).
