About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Scientist II, you will work directly with major retailers and manufacturers on critical problems such as demand forecasting, price and promotion optimization, and supply-chain decisioning. You will own the science end-to-end, from understanding customer needs to implementing solutions that transform their operations. Your insights will directly influence product development, enhancing the core capabilities of the business.
Responsibilities
- Own customer engagements end-to-end, including problem framing, solution development, and driving commercial impact.
- Apply and adapt frontier ML, forecasting, optimization, and agentic AI techniques to novel problems.
- Translate successful ground-level applications into product direction, improving core capabilities.
- Operate with autonomy across diverse stakeholders, making critical judgment calls to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay abreast of advancements in applied AI and integrate new knowledge into team practices.
Requirements
- Strong track record of applying ML/data science to real-world commercial problems.
- Demonstrated depth in forecasting, optimization, or supply-chain/pricing.
- Instinct to own outcomes and drive ambiguous problems to resolution.
- Fluent programming skills in Python and SQL.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies as required by a problem.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of building confidence with executives and explaining complex models to non-technical audiences.
- Comfort with ambiguity, direct customer interaction, and a fast-paced delivery environment.
