About the Role

As a Front Office Agent at the JW Marriott Hotel Berlin, you will be the first and last impression for guests, ensuring a memorable and unique experience. You will handle check-ins and check-outs, manage billing, and assist guests with inquiries about the hotel's services and offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first and last impression for guests during morning and evening shifts at the Front Office.
  • Provide coverage for the Night Audit in their absence, as needed.
  • Manage check-in/check-out processes for international guests.
  • Independently handle complete billing procedures using the PMS (Opera).
  • Verify payment guarantees (C/I) and ensure correct invoicing (C/O).
  • Process debtors and transfer them to accounting.
  • Receive daily revenues from all F&B outlets.
  • Control credit card statements and manage revenues.
  • Advise guests on the hotel's location, amenities, and services.
  • Take restaurant reservations and similar requests for guests.
  • Collaborate closely with all departments to ensure a unique hotel experience.
  • Value guest feedback (praise and criticism) to achieve satisfaction goals.
  • Create a safe work place.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Uphold quality standards.
  • Ensure uniform, personal appearance, and communications are professional.
  • Be on your feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time).
  • Take a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance).

Requirements

  • Completed hotel management apprenticeship and/or a degree in hotel or tourism management.
  • Open to career changers who enjoy interacting with guests and working with computers.
  • Warm, authentic, and sociable personality.
  • Engaging communication and expression skills in German and English.
  • Opera knowledge is a plus, but not required.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • No related work experience required.
  • No supervisory experience required.
