About the Role

The Center for New Social Policy (ZSP) is seeking interns for its 'Policy & Projects' team, starting quarterly in 2027. This role offers a chance to contribute to impactful projects at the intersection of policy and science, focusing on social justice, social state modernization, and social security system reforms. Interns will gain experience in a dynamic environment with opportunities for creative input and close observation of political developments in Berlin.

Responsibilities

• Assist team members with projects on social justice, social state modernization, and social security system reforms.
• Support stakeholder meeting preparation, including background research.
• Help prepare scientific texts and data for political communication formats.
• Assist with political monitoring and prepare specific topics.
• Cover events in political Berlin (in-person and digital) and report back to the team.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an advanced degree program, ideally in a thematically relevant field.
• Strong interest in social policy contexts and debates.
• Structured, independent, and quality-conscious approach with attention to detail.
• Strong willingness to cooperate and enjoyment of working in an agile team.
• Affinity for presentations and visualizations (e.g., PowerPoint, Miro).
• Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methods and relevant programs (e.g., SPSS, R, or MAXQDA) is desirable.
• First work experience in politics, think tanks, or NGOs, social/political engagement, or international experience is a plus.
