About the Role
ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer – Civil to join their growing Energy Hubs and Substations Teams. This role is crucial for the design, build, finance, operation, and maintenance of the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network, a significant project aimed at transferring power from renewable sources to consumers and unlocking substantial network capacity.
Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with project personnel and external stakeholders to foster a collaborative working environment.
- Maintain strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and record management.
- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to meet required deadlines.
- Attend and contribute to pre-start, toolbox, team, and construction-related meetings.
- Conduct site walks with peers and supervision to monitor work progression.
- Ensure timely reporting and rectification of downtime and non-conformances per project quality procedures.
- Regularly monitor and accurately track work progress and financial performance against budget and targets, identifying and rectifying foreseeable issues.
- Meet all commercial deliverables for timely financial reporting, including Progress Claims, variations, and subcontractor claims assessment.
- Contribute to the site's 3-week lookahead and construction program, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Implement risk controls to improve safety, financial, and engineering performance, communicating risks and controls formally before work commences.
- Maintain effective two-way communication with the construction team regarding critical tasks, upcoming works, maintenance schedules, and machinery requirements.
- Analyze equipment requirements and prepare a plant schedule aligned with the program.
- Assist in the timely and cost-effective procurement of all necessary equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Experience with Tier 1 Contractors on large-scale projects, including foundations, piling, and bulk earthworks.
- Preferable experience constructing outdoor air-insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above.
- Experience working on mega-construction projects.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of safety awareness in the workplace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable Project policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contractual requirements and relevant legislation.
