About the Role
Seeking a Software Engineer to interface with embedded systems, machine learning models, and 3D game engines. This role focuses on building reliable, reusable systems that expand our current architecture for wearable input devices.
Responsibilities
- Write C/C++ code to interface with custom BTLE hardware
- Build systems to expose custom hardware abilities to multiple platforms and engines (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Unity, Unreal, Godot)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide feedback and improvements across the full application stack
- Test and debug custom embedded systems
- Investigate motion tracking and pose estimation systems
- Create tools for data collection, validation, and analysis
- Conduct R&D with sensor fusion, machine vision, and motion capture
Requirements
- Strong experience with C/C++
- Familiarity with IMUs and VQF algorithms
- Experience working with or integrating machine learning models in real-time applications
- Experience with multiple popular game engines
- Experience with embedded systems or consoles
- Excellent communication skills
- BSc or MSc degree in computer science or a related field (e.g., engineering, physics, applied math)
- Ability to interface well with non-programmers and learn quickly
- Strong intuition for optimization and code safety
- Possess a powerful ownership mindset and take full accountability for projects from concept to completion
- Self-starter who can 'catch the vision and run with it'
- Skilled at moving projects forward with minimal oversight
- Natural collaborator who works effectively with cross-functional teams
