About the Role
We are hiring Members of Technical Staff, a general research/engineering role. Pursue your research bets on physical-labor, video, or world-model data with access to a large-scale dataset and a supportive team.
Responsibilities
- Run research bets on Build data: train, evaluate, ablate, and ship what works.
- Design and train models on in-the-wild video and physical-labor data; determine what is learned and what is missing as data scales.
- Build necessary training and data paths (PyTorch, distributed training, dataset curation).
- Collaborate with Head of Dataset & Quality and Evals Lead to influence collection and evaluations.
- Cover research and engineering needs within a small team.
- Design evaluation frameworks that honestly assess generalization, not just training curves.
Requirements
- Trained real models and have a research bet that can be defended.
- Proficiency in Python and a deep learning framework (PyTorch or equivalent).
- Desire to work on in-the-wild physical data, not exclusively academic datasets.
- Ability to transition between research questions and engineering to complete experiments.
- Capacity to operate independently on ambiguous, high-impact directions.
