About the Role
Steel Sports is a Social Impact business dedicated to inspiring youth to reach their potential through its coaching system, "The Lasorda Way." This role offers opportunities for optional travel and collaboration with professional coaches nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Conduct practices and develop players’ skills and strategies.
- Provide performance feedback.
- Evaluate players through various methods.
- Coordinate game schedules, practices, and travel arrangements.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive learning environment.
- Ensure the safety of all players during training sessions and games.
- Communicate with parents/guardians regarding player progress and team updates.
- Attend team meetings, coaching clinics, and workshops to enhance coaching skills.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of baseball.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
