About the Role
The Air Logistics Senior Manager Express Operations will manage warehouse and airport ramp operations, ensuring efficient handling of Express packages in a cross-dock environment. This hands-on role involves leading a team to meet customer satisfaction, safety, security, and quality standards, while maintaining operational control in accordance with corporate security programs and TSA legislation.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, lead, and control staff to foster a culture of teamwork, self-motivation, and pride.
- Develop leadership and management skills in next-level leaders and managers.
- Supervise staff to meet business needs and achieve successful outcomes per Service Level Agreement standards.
- Ensure operational leadership monitors and instructs staff on safety rules and standards.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring decisions.
- Assist with employee relations, conflict resolution, performance appraisals, counseling, and terminations.
- Maintain security under Airport Police, TSA, USCBP, and FAA regulations, challenging unauthorized individuals.
- Prepare operational reports, including weekly, monthly, and ad hoc special reports.
- Complete injury and damage reports as required.
- Authorize and ensure post-accident and post-injury testing.
- Assist customer representatives with compliance reports and audits.
- Maintain records and appointments for airport employment, including badge appointments and government-required meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience (2-5 years related experience).
- Airline/Logistics/Transportation experience preferred.
- 5 years of leadership and management experience required.
- Must possess leadership skills with the ability to train and develop personnel.
- Must be able to continually respond to and prioritize within a fluid work environment.
- Must have the ability to work across a 24/7 schedule based on business needs.
