About the Role

The Multi-Site Director oversees the daily operations of assigned school-based sites, ensuring programs run smoothly, supporting teachers, and building strong relationships with school staff to establish HKP as a trusted presence. Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned school-based sites.
  • Visit sites regularly to support teachers and ensure program quality and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school building staff.
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard site-level staff.
  • Create and manage daily and weekly staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Maintain a substitute list and fill scheduling gaps proactively.
  • Coach and support Site Directors and teachers.
  • Address staff performance issues directly and document appropriately.
  • Foster a positive, mission-driven team culture.
  • Schedule staff according to required ratios, managing hours for compliance and budget.
  • Review and approve timecards accurately and on time.
  • Monitor payroll costs against budget and take corrective action.
  • Build efficient schedules to minimize overtime and maximize coverage.
  • Communicate schedule changes proactively to staff.
  • Accurately use HKP’s payroll and scheduling platforms.
  • Monitor site enrollment, identify concerns, and communicate them to supervisors.
  • Ensure teachers effectively engage children and use HKP materials.
  • Support families with questions, concerns, and registration.
  • Track re-enrollment and follow up with families who may not return.
  • Participate in enrollment events and community outreach.
  • Report enrollment and quality observations to Area or Regional Director.
  • Ensure all overseen sites maintain active state licensing.
  • Conduct regular compliance checks (ratios, records, credentials, safety).
  • Ensure staff complete required training and certifications remain current.
  • Respond promptly to licensing inquiries or corrective actions.
  • Keep staff informed of compliance expectations.
  • Maintain organized and accurate site files.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact with school building leadership.
  • Build proactive relationships with school building leadership.
  • Address and resolve building-level concerns and complaints quickly.
  • Coordinate with school staff on logistics, space use, and schedules.
  • Keep principals informed of program news and operational issues.
  • Escalate district-level concerns to Area or Regional Director.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • NY State Children’s Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing or mentoring staff.
  • Comfortable with scheduling, logistics, and managing daily operational coverage across multiple locations.
  • Experience working directly with school building staff is a plus.
  • Familiarity with state childcare or school-age licensing requirements is a plus.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Dependable, hands-on leader who shows up, follows through, and takes ownership.
  • Warm, patient, and professional demeanor with children and families.
  • Comfortable giving feedback and having direct conversations with staff.
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple sites without constant direction.
  • Must pass a full background check including fingerprinting and reference checks.
