About the Role
The Technical Producer role offers a unique opportunity to join a small, dynamic team and be the primary technical owner of a new, state-of-the-art studio in Manhattan. This is a blended role for a creative thinker with a strong technical focus, managing the technical infrastructure of studio facilities including a green screen/LED wall virtual production stage, control room, and podcast studio. While technical management is the focus, you will also be involved in hands-on production tasks and collaborate with global teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for all studio-related technical requests, ensuring equipment readiness for all productions.
- Oversee all studio systems with remote assistance from UK-based broadcast engineering support, including the Ross Ultrix Router, Panasonic Kairos vision mixer, and AdderLink KVM network.
- Log all technical issues, proactively identify problems to minimize downtime, and act as the main point of contact with broadcast support vendors.
- Take ownership of systems administration, ensuring all technical documentation is orderly and up-to-date on Confluence, including technical drawings and asset registers.
- Administer video-based SaaS systems, including Riverside.fm, CUEZ, Shade.inc, and others.
- Oversee vendor administration, contractor logistics, and organize site meetings with Facilities Management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, particularly in virtual production (both green screen and LED wall), and seek opportunities for continuous professional development.
- Work alongside local and global production teams to film and edit engaging, customer-focused video and audio projects.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in corporate or broadcast video production, with hands-on technical and video production experience.
- Must provide a portfolio of exceptional work that demonstrates technical and creative production skills.
- A strong understanding of modern broadcast and virtual production technologies, including Dante, BitFocus Companion, 1.5mm pixel pitch, 12G SDI, Ultrix Router, ArtNet, and reference sync.
- Experience in a corporate video, broadcast television, or live production environment, with proficiency in lighting, audio, camerawork, editing, and graphics.
- A proven ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Experience with both Mac and PC environments and familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Security-savvy with experience looking after systems in a corporate IT environment.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of craft and attention to detail.
- A keen learner and problem-solver who uses initiative to get the job done.
- This is an onsite role with the expectation to work in office 5 days per week.
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Media Production, Communications, or equivalent technical experience in corporate video or broadcast video environments.
- Deep knowledge of control systems, specifically BitFocus Companion for system integration.
- Familiarity with virtual production on green screen and LED walls.
- Expertise in multi-camera video podcast production and remote shooting setups.
- Experience with camera tracking systems (e.g., MRMC) and gaming engines for production.
- Limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.
