About the Role

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is part of the Advancement Services and Analytics team within University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR). This role will participate in business analysis activities to gather reporting and dashboard requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and develop reports and dashboards from multiple data sources. The position involves developing and implementing project plans for reporting initiatives, collaborating on converting legacy reports to new BI platforms, and providing training and ongoing support for developed assets. The role also includes completing ad-hoc requests and identifying opportunities for process enhancement.

Responsibilities

Participate in business analysis activities to gather reporting and dashboard requirements.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Develop reports and dashboards drawing from multiple data sources.
Develop and implement project plans for reporting initiatives and other BI projects.
Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to provide status updates and ensure alignment.
Collaborate with other specialists to convert legacy reports to SSRS, Tableau, or other new BI platforms.
Transition developed reports and dashboards to respective teams and deliver training.
Provide ongoing support to maintain the availability, accuracy, and performance of developed reports and dashboards.
Complete ad-hoc user requests.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes, improve monitoring requests, and deliver value to stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
2+ years significant programming and data analytics experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

Strong SQL, SSIS, and SSRS technical skills.
Proficiency using programming languages & applications (SQL, .NET, MS Office, SSRS, Tableau, Python, R, and Machine Learning techniques).
Knowledge of a variety of current and emerging technologies.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment under deadline pressure.
