About the Role
The Wilmington Trust Institutional Services (IS) division is undergoing a strategic digital transformation to grow revenue, adopt a client-centric model, expand globally, and reduce costs. We are seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Product Owner to lead technology strategy for Institutional Services workflows, representing the customer's voice to establish a product vision aligned with business strategy. This role involves shaping workflow capabilities, ensuring cross-platform alignment, guiding investment decisions, and partnering with leadership and agile teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders, engineering, and business architects to create a compelling product vision aligned with company goals and values.
- Incorporate customer needs, goals, and pain points into the overall product strategy.
- Analyze the technical, business, and operational impacts of projects or problems.
- Coach the team to achieve excellence in product management artifacts and data-driven decision-making.
- Lead by example, demonstrating company core values and fostering transparency, collaboration, and excellence.
- Influence business partners across the organization to advocate for the customer.
- Analyze industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs to drive workflow capabilities and process transformation.
- Champion customer experience and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure digital products are relevant, fast, and easy to use.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand problems and align on long-term business priorities and success measures.
- Balance short and long-term goals to deliver value and address pain points.
- Document digital product discovery and design using Institutional Services business architecture framework and standards.
- Prioritize a feature backlog in partnership with other Digital Product Owners.
- Manage and remove blockers, and assist with the prioritization of team backlogs.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and focus on outcomes over outputs.
- Incorporate design thinking methods and analytics to inform product design.
- Manage and lead the analysis of feasibility, cost, or other aspects of planned or potential programs.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
- Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk.
- Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulatory issues.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years' business, analytical, technical, and/or product experience, or a combined minimum of 14 years' higher education and/or work experience (including 10 years in business, analytical, technical, and/or product).
- Proven business expertise with experience in setting clear priorities, understanding business value impacts, and independent decision-making.
- Prior experience prioritizing across competing priorities in a quickly-changing landscape.
- Prior experience actively seeking multiple opinions while making independent decisions and influencing positive outcomes.
