About the Role
The primary role is to grow and retain profitable relationships by delivering value-added solutions to clients and prospects. This position requires a qualified relationship manager capable of independent activity with proven client relationship skills, extensive product knowledge, technical expertise, and strong transaction execution skills. Credit process management is a critical component, and performance will be measured by effectiveness in marketing areas such as calling activity, proposal generation, revenue generation, risk mitigation, relationship building, and long-term franchise growth. The role involves seeking cross-selling opportunities and anticipating future client needs.
Responsibilities
- Solicit commercial clients, aggressively seeking and obtaining new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross-selling efforts.
- Obtain and maintain COIs and attend networking events in the assigned geographic area.
- Generate a wide variety of commercial and real estate loans.
- Close loans typically in the $1 million to $10 million range.
- Contribute to deposit growth by cross-selling and promoting additional banking products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Formally credit trained and/or underwriting knowledge and experience is preferred.
- Typically, a minimum of seven years direct lending or credit support related experience with a focus on business relationships.
- Familiarity with sales, loan processing, and closing processes.
- Extensive knowledge of Commercial Banking products and services, including working knowledge of C&I as well as Owner-Occupied and Investment Commercial Real Estate loans.
- Ability to expand loans, client relationships, and cross-sell bank products.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills and a proven track record of business development.
- Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with multiple variables.
- Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, loss, commission, markup, selling price, and ratio, proportion, and percentage.
- Ability to perform very simple algebra.
- Ability to read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias.
- Ability to prepare business letters, proposals, summaries, and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
- Ability to conduct training, communicate at panel discussions, and make professional presentations.
