About the Role

Artheon is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to collaborate on designs for projects involving hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater management, and drainage and transportation infrastructure. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful projects and grow within a well-established consulting firm. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Design drainage conveyance systems, stormwater management BMPs, and hydrologic and hydraulic designs for bridges and culverts under engineer supervision.
  • Perform hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage design calculations.
  • Prepare/assist with 3D design models using Civil 3D, Microstation Inroads, and Openroads software.
  • Draft contract plans and details for preliminary and final design phases.
  • Prepare quantity calculations, cost estimates, and supplemental specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to support design efforts.
  • Prepare design and compliance reports for environmental permit applications.
  • Assist with permit preparation for Federal, State, County, and local agencies.
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Professional Engineering license is preferred.
  • Proficiency with hydrologic, hydraulic, and drainage design software (e.g., HydroCAD, Hydraflow, Bentley Pondpack, EPA SWMM, HEC-RAS, HY-8).
  • Familiarity with NJTA and NJDOT procedures and design standards.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
