About the Role

Provides clinical and clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations within assigned medical practices. Prepares patients and examination areas for appointments.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and escorts patients, ensuring proper identification and performing clinical intake activities.
  • Transcribes and updates patient information, including demographics, medication history, and social/medical history.
  • Provides clerical support, including preparing patient charts and assisting with paperwork like disability forms.
  • Performs and stays current with EMR Orders Reconciliation.
  • Maintains cleanliness and stocking of examination areas and performs environmental rounds.
  • Prepares patients for visits, ensuring necessary materials are available for providers.
  • Conducts in-office testing and coordinates ancillary services.
  • Collects, prepares, and processes specimens, logging results and reconciling them in patient records.
  • Contacts patients for follow-up, test results, or clinician instructions.
  • Maintains inventory and ensures proper upkeep of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Communicates and documents electronic messages effectively.
  • Assists in training new staff.
  • Demonstrates and maintains practice-based competencies for clinical procedures.
  • Fulfills compliance responsibilities.
  • Maintains and models organizational values.
  • Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as required within the scope of practice.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • 1 year of Medical Assistant experience OR certification in MA or EMT OR 3 full years of experience in a healthcare-related field including patient care and vitals.
  • BLS Certification required within 30 days.
  • Ability to travel between practices as needed.
